The ProgressTracker report is an instant, on-demand datawall that puts student faces on data. It is designed for curriculum HODs reviewing subject-level trends, PLT conversations, and case management discussions where you need to see movements across reporting periods at a glance.

Two ways to generate a ProgressTracker report
There are two main entry points. The first is the Reports menu on the profile page (the pink menu), using the blue ProgressTracker report option. This is the one most suited to curriculum HODs because it looks at one subject area at a time and shows all A to E movements across the cohort.
The second is the ProgressTracker list, which is one of TrackEd’s list views. This option gives you more flexibility because you can pick any two data fields and build a report from those selections. You can reach it from the list view page directly, or via the Reports menu using the “ProgressTracker list” option (both take you to the same place).
What the report shows
The report displays student photos sorted into groups. Students who have trended down between reporting periods are highlighted in pink, and those who have trended up are highlighted in green. The effort and behaviour score is shown alongside each student, plus one extra configurable field (such as year-to-date percentage attendance or class ID).
There is a key at the bottom of the report explaining the coloured markers. You can configure what these markers represent to suit your needs.
Building a single report from the Reports menu
Go to a cohort, open the pink Reports menu, and select the blue ProgressTracker report option. Choose Subject Results, then pick your subject code (type the code and click it with your mouse to select it). Next, choose the report size. For a whole cohort, A3 Landscape with 20 across is the largest option available.
Click Create and TrackEd will build the report. Students are grouped by their A to E result, with trend indicators and your chosen extra field displayed. If you set the user field to Class ID, you can see the whole cohort at once while still being able to identify which class each student belongs to.
This also works for a found set of students, not just the full cohort.
Generating PDF Bundles
For a quicker workflow across multiple subjects, use the PDF Bundle option from the Reports menu. You can choose to save to Tracker Docs or to Staff SharePoint. The Staff SharePoint option saves one file per class into folders organised by Staff ID, which makes distribution easier. For more on the SharePoint setup, see Sharepoint Integration.
Select the subject codes you want to include (you can pick any combination), then choose whether to bundle by subject (one PDF per subject) or by class (one PDF per class). Set your user field and report size, then hit Continue. TrackEd loops through the selected codes and saves a PDF for each.
For class-level bundles, a smaller size such as Portrait A4 with 10 across works well. For subject-level bundles covering a full cohort, A3 Landscape with 20 across is a better fit.
Building a report from the list view
Open the ProgressTracker list (from the list view page or via the Reports menu). Unlike other list views where you click a heading to sort, this page lets you pick any two headings and TrackEd will build a ProgressTracker report from those selections.
The first heading you click becomes the ranking field (what groups students vertically). The second heading you click becomes the horizontal sort. Once you have made both selections, click Make Chart, choose your report size, and hit Continue.
Examples from the list view
The list view option opens up a wide range of combinations. Some practical examples include:
Academic fails vs effort score: Rank students by number of academic fails (1, 2, 3, etc.) and sort by effort score underneath. Year-to-date attendance is also shown, so you can triangulate three data points at once. This is particularly useful for building case management tiers.
Attendance band vs absence days: Group students into green, yellow, and red attendance bands with absence days and year-to-date percentage attendance displayed.
QCE band vs QCE points: Group by QCE band (e.g. 20-24, 18-19, 0-17) with QCE points and the latest estimate shown underneath.
Subject result vs roll class: Pick an individual subject result (e.g. English Year 5 A to E) and sort students into roll class groups. Note that this view does not include the trend, effort, and behaviour information shown in the Reports menu version.
Hiding values and refining the view
After generating a list view report, you can use the Hide this value option on the right-hand side to remove groups you are not interested in. For example, you might hide students with no data or those with zero academic fails to focus on the students who need attention.
Using tracking template data
The list view also includes data imported via the tracking template system. Any data you have imported using tracking templates (such as GPA calculations, diagnostic results, or custom imports) can be used as one of the two fields in a ProgressTracker report. TrackEd shows the full history of imported data for these fields.
Printing and saving
Reports generated from either the Reports menu or the list view can be printed or saved as PDFs. For the list view reports, use the print and PDF options available on the report itself.
