The coaching notes template is an excel based data collection tool. You can save the template from the profile page, export button, coaching notes template option.
This file can have data entered when you are away from school, or by people that do not have access to TrackEd. You can then import the file with the ‘coaching notes import’ and any new notes will be inserted into TrackEd. Some tips as follows.
- Don’t remove any columns. If you need to you can hide columns in excel by collapsing them
- You can apply formatting in excel like ‘wrap text’ to make data entry easier
- The date field is used during import to add the date to the note that is imported
- New notes are added at the top and older notes are pushed down
- Any student with no notes in the file are unaffected during import
- Be sure not to reuse the same file more than once, as imported notes might be imported again
- If you set the coach in the excel file it will be set as the coach in TrackEd during import
- This feature may be helpful when used in conjunction with an offline backup copy of TrackEd. There is a separate video in the tech series for setting this up
