Tips for migrating an existing server (updated Dec 2023)
1. Filemaker Server 20 is backwards compatible to v19.4 of FileMaker Pro. You may need to update client PCs at the same time
2. TrackEd will be unavailable while you update the server so the migration should be scheduled when TrackEd is not needed
3. If your old server is prior to v19 you will need to uninstall it first. From v19 onwards you can just run the new installer on the same VM and it will stop the service for you

5. Ensure that you keep the admin console login safe. If you keep it the same as it was the auto update schedule should keep running as it did
6. The admin console requires either chrome or edge, as IE is no longer supported.
7. The new server will need the following command run to enable the photos database to open on the server. The authentication for this is the Filemaker Server login.
fmsadmin SET SERVERCONFIG SECUREFILESONLY=false
8. The automatic update schedule (to keep the TrackEd database at the latest release) may need configuration again depending on what version you upgraded from and if you changed the admin console password
